Kuno Moser GmbH began producing micrometers in 1946 and phased them out by 1949 to 1957, when the company completely shifted its focus to consumer electronics.
The presence of the interlocking M-O emblem dates your micrometer to the 1949–1955 window.
Having the interlocking M-O emblem cast directly into the metal frame narrows the production date to approximately 1951 to 1955.
An aluminum metal frame perfectly aligns with the unique transition Kuno Moser GmbH made during the 1953–1955 period.
That unusually light feel is the ultimate proof that you are holding one of the very last micrometers Kuno Moser GmbH ever produced, right around 1954 to 1955.
Your micrometer is extremely rare and can easily be considered a museum-grade industrial artifact.
Rarity: Because Kuno Moser GmbH only operated for a few years before pivoting exclusively to electronics (and eventually being absorbed by Wahl), surviving gray-enamel micrometers with the cast emblem are highly collectible crossover artifacts of Black Forest industrial history.
